In response to health official recommendations concerning the spread of coronavirus, at Universal Pest Control we‘ll be taking steps to limit exposure to both our customers and technicians.
Inspections and treatments that do not require entrance to the home will continue as scheduled. (We’ll wave to you through the window.)
Inspections and treatments that require access to the interior of your home will be rescheduled until after officials have deemed the situation recovered.
By taking these measures, our dedicated team can protect your family’s health and theirs. If you have an exterior treatment coming up within the next month or two, please consider calling us to move it up. This will help to lessen the impact Universal Pest Control will surely face trying to reschedule treatments following the outbreak during an already hectic season.
We appreciate your patience as we all work together through these troubling times.
TIPS TO PROTECT AGAINST CORONAVIRUS
As in most cases, the best offense is a good defense. The best thing you can do to keep yourself and others healthy is to wash your hands often with warm water and soap, and avoid leaving your home as much as possible. (Time for some Netflix!)
If you are struggling to find household cleaners or disinfectants available in the store, you can make your own at home. For hard, non-porous surfaces, the CDC recommends mixing 1/3 cup bleach with 1 gallon of water (or 4 tablespoons bleach to 1 quart water). Wear gloves and spray and wipe as necessary, paying special attention to high-touch areas like doorknobs, faucets, handles, etc. You may want to wipe down the area with plain water afterward to reduce damage to the surface.
However, please note that there is no urgent need to take this step unless you have had contact will an ill person, feel sick yourself, or have confirmed COVID-19 cases in your area. Stay safe out there, folks.
